Self Manifestation

It is always great to hear another persons viewpoint on the changes that are happening to us all. Everyone is feeling it differently so here is Sandy King’s experience.   Thanks Sandy for your insightful words.

When faced with the thought of writing a blog, as a first time blogger, my mind went blank. Inspiration was simply not forthcoming – however, the idea was exciting, and certainly something I wanted to do. Yesterday, I answered a question on a Facebook page, and, in doing so, a light bulb went on in my head, and I realised that this would be the topic for my blog. Why, you might ask. My answer is because there have been so many changes in my life this year, and, when I look back, I realise that c was quite correct in saying that “Change is the only constant in life”.
We learn and are conditioned into belief systems because of what society expects of us. There comes a time when we realise that we have stagnated, and are living in a rut of repetitive patterns – but don’t always know what to do to change those mundane habits in order to realise our truth and our own path. Unless we are able to make those changes ourselves, we are “nudged” in one way or another, to step out of the rut, to step o# the treadmill, and to experience the flowers in the fields alongside the path – to realise how many different varieties and fragrances there are for us to experience. We then realise what amazing scope is available to us once we break the realms of the norm. We also start realising that, when we follow our own passion, our new norm is actually the norm for so many other people – we start meeting those beautiful new souls, and, in that way, finding confidence to continue, to learn and absorb everything we can, like a desert soaking up the rain water a1er a long drought. We realise the magnificence of all that is available to us – and we live in that new realm, learning from the abundant knowledge, and bringing added knowledge to that great library of reference. Our minds are so powerful and so capable of beautiful, healing thoughts.
Although there have been a number of occurrences in my life, all of which have lead me to where I am now, the biggest and most lasting changes have really happened this year. The “nudge” from the Universe for me, was consistent pain caused by newly diagnosed osteoarthritis in my hip. I had been to see various people for help, and that pain was persistent. I started to despair in the fact that, for the rest of my life, I would be walking with a limp, and, without hip-replacement surgery, would eventually end up in a wheel chair. This was not what I envisaged as my preferred future. This was when I embarked on a journey of discovery (for me) and Intuitive Healing sessions with Jane and Dave. On this journey, I have learnt so much about our own perception of situations – and if we change our perceptions, our entire outlook on the world changes. By changing our outlook on life, and by changing ourselves, others around us also change, because their views and statements no longer have the same effect on us as they had previously had. If we affect change within ourselves, we also effect change in the world around us – thereby creating the never-ending ripples in the pond of humanity, as a pebble does as it breaks the surface of a body of water.
If we are open to change, we will always be interested in what will happen next – and will never tire of life, because there is always something new to create and to experience. We truly can attract all we manifest for ourselves.
Thank you for spending this time with me, I wish you all Love, Peace and Happiness as you continue in this amazing world.
Sandy

Sodalite is the Crystal for Truth Seekers

Crystals are a fantastic source of support that are easily available, inexpensive and simple to use.

‘Hmm’, you say, ‘how can a bit of rock help in any way?’

In the early days, my thoughts exactly.  Some nonsense dreamed up by someone who had a lot of rocks in their garden – even maybe in their head – that could not possibly help anyone.  But me being me, I looked into it; after all, if people believed it, who was I to say ‘Rubbish’ without investigation.

The Purple DragonflyI had crystal healing, researched the science behind vibration and frequencies with the growing quantum information that was becoming available and began to see the logic in the power of crystals.  Now, I use them regularly for many different purposes.

Sodalite – Description:

Beautiful blue Sodalite is a crystal that has a strong vibration which focuses our attention on the qualities of idealism and truth.  Its energy helps us to live up to our own ideals and ideas about the nature of truth and is particularly helpful in aiding the development of intuition.   Sodalite is laced with white inclusions of Calcite which connects the higher levels of consciousness promoting our connection to our inner knowing.

Sodalite is commonly found in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Namibia, Russia and Tanzania

Uses of Sodalite:

When we need to find the core truth in any situation we can use Sodalite to encourage us forward to honour and speak our truth gently, without force.  It helps us stand up for our beliefs by enhancing the self-expression and confidence necessary for the Truth Seeker, as often our truth will be misunderstood or not accepted by others.   People are not being difficult when they challenge us, it is merely that  it can be difficult to accept another’s opinion especially when it is not aligned our own.  It is comfortable to remain static in our thoughts because we fear that if we have to change one way of thinking it will naturally affect everything we believe. This is living in an unconscious state of being; we like in our comfort zone, to know where we stand, even if we don’t like the view.   The Truth Seeker lives outside those boundaries in a conscious state and is the instigator of change.

Sodalite works with two Chakras; the Throat and the Third Eye combining order and calmness to the mind encouraging rational thought, objectivity, truth and intuition with the ability to speak this truth clearly and concisely.  It helps us to trust our own judgment by enhancing self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust and to fearlessly step out on the adventure by releasing old conditioning and programming of the past which have no further purpose.

On an esoteric level Sodalite is considered a stone of awakening as it stimulates the Third Eye through the Pineal Gland.   This will guide us on our spiritual path by opening the subconscious mind and helping us to see the symbols and messages being presented to us constantly for guidance and direction.

In our physical life Sodalite encourages structure and is useful in finding efficient ways of dealing with daily tasks and problems. It eases fear as it rises up in new situations or re-creations of old negative patterns, so that familiar feeling of panic that would normally turn us away from a situation, seeps away leaving structured thinking to successfully work it out.

Sodalite is linked to the Moon and the Elements of Water and Air.  The Moon is The Purple Dragonflythe feminine energy of creative thinking, seeing the hidden in the obvious. It allows us to see the symbolism clearly and to think ‘outside the box’ with clarity and structure.   Both Water and Air flow and move freely and when our thoughts are free to flow we have no restriction either.  Think of the gentleness of all three of these, Moon, Water and Air, but also see the power they each have; the Moon moves the tides sometimes creating floods, Water can break free with devastating results when restricted and Air can become a hurricane.  Our thoughts can become equally strong and damaging to our spirit when they are confined, curtailed or restricted.

Ways to incorporate Sodalite:

  1. Choose a suitable Sodalite crystal and carry it with you preferably against your skin
  2. Wear a bracelet or necklace made of Sodalite
  3. Choose a Sodalite crystal tree, pyramid or other shape as an ornament to enhance your living space.
  4. Make a Sodalite Elixir

Make an Elixir:

Sodalite Elixir is made by the Indirect Method as Sodalite contains Aluminium and therefore should not be placed directly in the water used to make the Elixir.

Indirect Method:

Materials:

  • A small glass bowl
  • A larger glass bowl
  • A clear lid or plastic wrap
  • Rainwater, natural spring water, non-carbonated mineral water or tap water

Method:

  • Place the cleansed Sodalite crystal in the small glass bowl and stand this inside the  large glass bowl.
  • Fill the large bowl with enough water to raise the level above the crystal in the inner bowl.
  • Stand in the sunlight or moonlight for several hours. If this is outside cove with a lid or plastic wrap.
  • Decant the water into a glass bottle.
  • Top up with a preservative such as apple cider vinegar, vegetable glycerine or brandy (for adults only).  This is the Mother Tincture and is used to create the remedy.
  • Add 7 drops of the Mother Tincture to pure water in a 15ml dropper bottle and add a little more suitable preservative.
  • For best results, take three to four drops of the gem elixir under your tongue, three times daily for at least a month. Or take three to four drops of the elixir in a glass of water three times a day.

Note: Doubling the dose does not double the effects as Gem elixirs are designed to be taken in small doses. Take the elixir consciously, pause for a moment and thank the spirit of the stone for its help.

Astrology and Numerology linked to Sodalite:

Sodalite connects to the Sun Sign Sagittarius and the numerical influence of 4.

Sagittarius encourages a curious, open and energetic mind; it is an adventurer with philosophical view searching for the meaning of life with optimism and enthusiasm.

Number 4 is the number of organisation, tenacity and focus.  It offers support, encouragement and inner-strength, enabling us to do what we need to do and achieve our goals with diligence and proficiency.

Sagittarius combined with Number 4 creates a force to be reckoned with; strong, structured yet fluid, curious and free.

Animal Totem – Crocodile

Crocodile has lived on this planet since prehistoric times and reminds us that we are infinite beings with a spirit that survives eternally.   Due to its long survival on the planet, it is considered to be the keeper of all knowledge. The most important part of Crocodile’s message is that we must look for every opportunity to ingest new knowledge and wisdom ourselves.  We are invited to generate patience as this is the beginning of a period of growth and regeneration so take time to breathe and stay balanced through the changes.

Essential Oil – Black Pepper

Black Pepper essential oil is a great way to relieve feelings of anxiety.  Place a few drops in a diffuser and allow the aroma to fill your living space.  Sit quietly holding a Sodalite crystal and relax.  The feelings will lift and with the mind clear, the way forward will show itself.

Note: When you buy a new stone or crystal, it is advantageous to use it on its own first. Once you are fully aware of its energy, you may choose to combine it with other stones.  Combine stones for short periods to begin with, so you can assess what works most effectively for you.

Crystals for Energy Alignment

My first go to reviver is Clear Quartz.  A small tumbled or rough piece placed in a glass, a jug or drinking bottle energises the water – check it out with your pendulum.  Dowse the water before and after and see the difference.  When you drink the water it energises the body cells.

Only use Clear Quartz in drinking water as some crystals are highly toxic in liquid.

The following crystals I would place against my skin; either sticky taped to it or supported by tight underclothing.

Sodalite is a great crystal to stimulate the mental body and bring order and organisation to our thoughts and words.  It is especially helpful in counteracting feelings of confusion or disorientation that can occur due to the shifting energies we are experiencing at the moment.  As our life around us changes we can experience a wide range of emotions including stress, anxiety, fear, guilt and anger. Beautiful blue Sodalite has a peaceful and relaxing quality that can calm challenging emotional states and help to relax an overactive mind by slowing down excessive mental activity.  As an extra benefit it can also alleviate insomnia.

Use Bloodstone to strengthen and support your physical body, energetic structure and attitude to the shifting energies.   Bloodstone gives a rejuvenating quality that can support you through a health crisis and speed up the healing of any physical symptoms you are experiencing.  It is especially helpful if you are feeling fatigued, exhausted, and drained.  It is a grounding stone and brings in a sense of stability at best and at worst a sense that everything is OK, even if it doesn’t feel that way!

Three other crystals that would be a mainstay for any energy alignment would be Citrine to stimulate the Immune System to fight of bugs that may wish to join the low energy party, Rose Quartz to balance the heart and mind allowing us the permission to go inward to rest and recover and Amethyst to connect to that part of us that has been neglected which knows we are loveable and deserving of life’s gifts.  Don’t we often forget that?

Crystals have been recorded throughout time as used for healing and they are still used for their qualities in laser treatment, watches, computers and mobile phones.  So you see nothing is new.

If you would like more information on crystals and how they work please feel free to contact us.

Obviously where there is concern over health, it is recommended to check it out with your GP.

Jane Offer xx

Oh and if you have not already liked us on Facebook please head of over to see what we are up to here!

Detachment

Last year was a year of endings and the energy of new beginnings kicked in around September.   You maybe feeling the sense of wishing to change things in your life – a job, a home, a situation – and that is simply the death and rebirth cycle we all experience periodically.  The January New Moon in Aquarius was a definite starting point for setting the wheels in motion. Aquarius energy is all about starting fresh, thinking outside of the box and finding new meaning to things.

Detachment is the way to aid this process.  When we get caught up in the details or dragged into the drama it is difficult to see things clearly. Our mind becomes clouded and we cannot break free from the fear of change.  This is how it has always been so what will happen if it changes?  Will I cope?  When we can detach from all that it is easier to see the way forward; the way that is best for our own well-being.   How many people do you know, maybe even yourself, that stay in a situation that is painful, upsetting or unhealthy because they feel they have no choice?  They fear the outcome of making a stand and changing the situation.   Well, detachment gives you back the power of choice and helps you to move forward again.  With a clear mind you can see the bigger picture and view things in a new way.  Use the power and energy of this period to regain strength and resolve to see a new version of your own truth.

Crystal to help us move forward

Smoky Quartz helps you us achieving our full potential. It helps to release all the blocked, old and stagnant energy in our body. Once all of the old energy is removed, new energy is able to fill all the open space with light and hope.

Citrine  helps us to develop a positive attitude. It encourages us to go with the flow and let go of anything from the past that is creating unhappiness. It promotes the enjoyment of new things and experiences.

Carnelian is the stone of individuality, creativity and courage. It encourages an awareness of the connection between our emotional state and our state of being.  Carnelian dissolves fear, helps us to trust ourselves and our perceptions, and boosts self-confidence.

Preparing Your Kitchen Space

Don’t you  just love the fresh start that a new year brings?  Your first Nourish Note for 2017 begins with creating a calm and organised space in the kichen, the central place of your home that can help to support your health throughout the year.   Being prepared is a key factor in maintaining healthy food habits and there is no better place to start than in your kitchen.

When our ‘space’ feels clear and organised we’re generally more inspired to spend time getting creative with our food and cooking.  This helps to keep us motivated with our food choices and away from unconscious eating.

So,  how does being organised relate to our dosha?  Your Vata Dosha, which governs all movement rhought he mind and body, helps to express our imagination.  Yet when we feel overwhelmed our  productivity can come to a standstill.  Being organised gives us the soace to be creative in a relaxed environment.

here are some steps Liesl Horne from Ayurvedic Essence uses to help clear out the clutter and make room for inspiration.

Make a Start By:

  • Clearing out the junk and any out-of-date products in your cupboards and fridge
  • Wiping down all surfaces with diluted white viengar and your favourite essential oil
  • Labeling and organising your food in clean glass jars which is a great way to find your ingredients at a ghlance
  • Tending to your veggie or herb patch for a few minutes a day.

Crystals that Help Develop Intuition

Crystals for Intuition

The prime candidate here has to be Lapis Lazuli.  It has been used throughout history to bring inner peace, freedom from negativity, activation of the higher mind, and enhancing the desire for truth.  More about Lapis Lazuli

Clear Quartz is   highly recommended for intuitive development as it is a powerful amplifier.  To increase your ability to ‘hear’, ‘see’ or ‘feel’ intuitively, think of yourself as a receiver, like a mast or satellite dish. The messages are there, but you may not be able hear them clearly. Clear Quartz amplifies their energy so they are more easily heard. Clear quartz also amplifies the qualities of the other crystals.

Labradorite is helpful for self-discovery, intuition and awakening our awareness of inner guidance.  Labradorite is a great grounding crystal

Fluorite increases conscious awareness, anchors intuition into the physical plane, absorbs confusion and harmonises energy. Fluorite brings mental clarity in unstable situations because it balances the chemistry of the brain.

And finally, an old favourite Moonstone.  This gently feminine crystal connects us to the power of the Moon enhancing the natural intuition within every woman.    It really opens our mind to intuition and balances the ‘down talk’ of doubt.

Crystals for Releasing Anger

Many people believe that anger is a negative emotion that should be suppressed at all costs.  This belief arises from a confusion.  Most of us confuse normal healthy anger with rage which is negative, destructive and unhealthy emotion because, at some point, as children, we will have experienced a parent or carer display rage and we have been frightened by it or we have expressed frustration and been punished for it.   Therefore, we learn very quickly to hold anger in which has a devastating effects on our health and well-being.

Anger is the messenger that tells us we are experiencing underlying emotions such as fear, anxiety, shock, pain or jealousy.  It is an important and necessary emotion as it allows us to develop boundaries and tells us that we are not comfortable with being treated disrespectfully, or that someone is invading our space or overriding our opinion.  It is important to immediately express those feelings kindly and gently.  It is counterproductive to leave it to stew and then yell and scream; we are then considered as unreasonable or unstable and our feelings are discounted.  However, if we speak out immediately by saying ‘That is an interesting opinion and I hear what you are saying.  However, it doesn’t sit well with me as I feel ….’ or ‘What do you mean when you say…… because I am feeling undermined by that and I am sure that can’t be the case’.  No-one will take exception to calmly stated statements such as that that and your voice will be heard.

Obviously, we have applied the ‘put up and shut up’ approach for most of our life so now we have a new habit to break.  Does it ever end?  Well, just know it is just a learned response and, as well as you learned it, it you can unlearn it.  All it takes is practice and a little help.  The first time you say ‘No’, without using the word ‘No’ of course, you will feel nervous to say the least.

When asked to do something, you don’t want to do, you can say ‘Oh I wished I had known earlier because of course I would help you but I have an appointment at that time which I cannot break.  However, I can see you on Tuesday at the local café and we can have a chat then’.

There you have it!  You have said ‘No’ without using the word and put forward what you are willing to do at a time that suits you.  How easy was that?  The other person is so busy looking forward to the Tuesday catch-up that they forget what they wanted in the first place, you’re off the hook and everyone is happy.

Still feel nervous?  Here are a few crystals that will help the process

Carnelian calms anger and helps to ground you to the Earth so that you can think rationally and not react with intense emotions. Think of Carnelian as a preventative.

Amethyst is a wonderful crystal to have handy which helps to release stress, anxiety and anger

Sugilite helps to eliminate hostility, anger, abrasiveness, jealousy and prejudice. It brings peace and relaxation to the user.

Diopside is a beautiful green crystal and acts as a reminder that health issues arise when we repress emotion. When we face these issues, as challenging and sometimes difficult as they may be, we need to remember it is in our best interest to let go.   Diopside helps us to address the questions, ‘Why are you holding on? What does it serve to hold on to anger and fear?’

Blue Kyanite calms and dispels anger and frustration, removes energy blockages and releases repressed emotion.

Any of these crystals can be carried as small crystal or worn as jewellery.  They are most effective when placed in contact with the skin.

Light and Colour

Colour exists in every part of the Universe; it is around us everywhere and we are influenced by colour constantly whether we realise it or not. Even when we have our eyes closed or it is dark, we still see colour. Even when we dream, we see colour.  Colour seems to describe life – evoking senses, feeling and memories.  We use colour to describe our feelings such as ‘feeling blue’ or ‘in the pink’, ‘green with envy’ or ‘seeing red’.  We are aware that some colours lift our spirits whilst others hide just how we are feeling.  Colours can be exciting, motivating, inspiring or balancing, calming and nurturing.

Where do these feelings come from?  We learn to differentiate colour at an early age.  Naming each one correctly can be a very young child’s ‘party piece’.  The ability of identification and naming colour is stored in the cortex of the brain, the area that governs formal education. The reflexive, instinctual response to colour is stored in the primitive, mid-brain area.

Colour is the visible section of the wavelength of light. The wavelengths of visible light (colour) lie between 400 and 700 nanometers (a nanometer is one billionth of a meter).  As the wavelength gradually increases from 400 to 700 nm, it is perceived as violet through the spectrum to red. (The wavelength is lengthening and slowing as it moves towards 700nm.)  We perceive coloured objects as a result of the photons, which make up the wavelength, being absorbed or reflected by that object.  A coloured object will absorb all the wavelengths (colours) that exactly match it and reflect the rest.  This is what we see.  Therefore, a red tomato absorbs all the rays except the red one that it reflects, so we see it as red.

Science recognises the effect of x-rays, ultraviolet rays and microwaves on our physical bodies but finds difficult the idea that our emotions and thought processes could also be affected. Light plays a major role in stimulating and regulating our physiological responses.  Therefore, as colour is the way in which we perceive light through the various wavelengths, it clearly can create different psychological and physiological effects.  Dr. Max Luscher, a leading colour expert, believed that a personal colour preference or dislike indicated a particular state of mind and/or a glandular balance. This, he believed, shows the reaction to be part of the ancient primal memory.

As science techniques have become more sophisticated, it has been shown that certain regions of the brain are light sensitive and respond differently to different wavelengths.  It is believed that these different wavelengths of radiation (colour) act on the endocrine system to affect hormone production.

As early as 1942, Russian scientist S V Krakov found that the colour red stimulated the sympathetic portion of the autonomic nervous system and blue stimulated the parasympathetic portion.  Robert Gerard, who tested a group of normal adult males, confirmed this in 1958.  By shining a red light onto a screen in front of the group, an increase in blood pressure, respiration and eye blink rate was noted.  When a blue light was shone, a marked reduction in these rates was recorded.  The heart rate in both cases remained unaffected. On an emotional level, blue increased feelings of relaxation and lessened anxiety and hostility.  The colour red increased excitement and tension.

Put simply, these experiments indicate that the autonomic nervous system and the part of the brain connected with vision become more active when stimulated by the red light and less aroused by the blue light. Clear, white light was used as the control and consistently indicated no difference either way.

Further experiments during the early ‘70’s have shown that specific colours will affect moods, breathing and pulse rate and blood pressure.  The colours that can increase each symptom are yellow, orange and red (red having the minimum effect).  The colours that can decrease each symptom are black, blue and green (green having the minimum effect).

Colour is used today as a tool to aid health in hospitals.  The maternity wards will use blue light (450nm) for the treatment of jaundice in newborn babies.  The light breaks up the biliruben that accumulates in the body and allows the natural processes to eliminate it.

This same blue light has been to be effective in reducing arthritic pain in experiments conducted in 1982.  A study in San Diego headed by Dr. Shanon McDonald showed that the light could positively affect the pain levels in a group of middle-aged women with rheumatoid arthritis.  The levels would vary with the length of exposure to the light.

Dr John Anderson conducted experiments using red light on migraine sufferers.  By flashing red lights into the eyes of sufferers a substantial amount had no migraine after one hour and the rest felt an improvement in symptoms.
