Reflexology is an holistic treatment that works on the principle that all organs are linked to the reflex points in the soles of the feet through energy channels running throughout the body.
By exerting gentle pressure on these points the body’s natural healing process is stimulated, blocks in the energy flow are dispersed and balanced energy flow can be restored resulting in improved general health.
What can Reflexology address?
- Stress and stress-related conditions
- Depression and anxiety
- Tension headaches
- Digestive disorders
- Joint pain and Arthritis
- Insomnia
Reflexology is highly beneficial for restoring balance and harmony in the body and releasing tension. It can help facilitate a deep state of relaxation, calm the emotions, and produce a serene mind.
What will I experience?
Following a consultation you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks or tights. Your feet will be placed in a warm foot bath initially to relax the muscles then each foot will be examined for open wounds, rashes or other blemishes. You will either sit or lay during the session and you may talk or drift into a relaxed state; you may even go to sleep. Whichever the case you will still receive the full benefit of the treatment. When pressure is applied to certain points that reflect a block in your system you may experience a little discomfort so any such reaction will be explained to you. If you have ticklish feet this will not be a problem as the pressure is firm and precise.
How many sessions will I need?
To receive optimum benefit from Reflexology six weekly sessions are recommended or once a month as part of a health maintenance programme.
Duration: 1 hour
